Are you ready to take on a pivotal role as a Senior System Analyst at Birkbeck?

As a Senior System Analyst, you will be supporting and developing our Student Record System, ensuring it meets the operational and management information requirements of the University.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Senior System Analyst with proven expertise in student records systems to join our Student Information Services team  and contribute to the strategic delivery of high-quality services supporting the University's students and staff.

This role at Birkbeck, University of London, is offered on a 12-month contract, full-time (35 hours a week), with a salary of £43,636 per year and a generous annual leave and pension scheme in the Higher Education sector. 

The Student Records Systems team plays a key role in advancing the University's commitment to enhancing student-facing services - including applications, enrolment, and online portals - as well as staff-facing business processes and systems.

As Senior System Analyst you will support and develop our Student Record System (Tribal SITS:Vision) and its associated services as well as working in close collaboration with stakeholders to define and implement innovative, user-centred solutions, contributing to projects that improve the experience of both students and staff. You will also:

  • Assist in business process development and system configurations,
  • Provide second-line user support for SITS and associated services,
  • Participate in testing and implementation for specific business areas or projects,
  • Review and document business processes, facilitating continuous improvement,
  • Develop and manage operational reports and deliver ad hoc management information,
  • Design and deliver training on system functionality and workflows.

To succeed as Senior System Analyst, you will:

  • Be educated to degree level (or possess equivalent professional experience),
  • Have in-depth knowledge of student records systems - ideally Tribal SITS:Vision,
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills across a range of audiences,
  • Have demonstrable experience in supporting systems and business processes within the Higher Education sector alongside a strong understanding of relational databases.

Salary and benefits:

Actual £43,636 per annum, Grade 7 (£43,636 to £49,683) of the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance that applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
